Venom Movie Is Going To Feature Carnage As Villain

Sony has reportedly found the main villain for the upcoming Venom movie and it is going to be a serial killer Cletus Kassidy also known as Carnage. In the comic books Cletus Kassidy is a maniac, who also happened to become the host for a Symbiote. Unlike Venom, who is obviously evil, Cletus is pretty much insane and devoid of any redeeming qualities, which makes him even deadlier than Eddie Brock’s Venom.

If Sony envision Carnage as the villain, than what does it make of Eddie? Despite making some of the best casting decisions and appointing Tom Hardy as Venom, this whole endeavor still feels like a giant mess. Both of these characters are villains, villains of Spider-Man, a character who is not going to be featured in the movie. How any of this is going to work out?

What’s more is that the studio is working on a bunch of spin-off movies about a few B-listers including  Kraven the Hunter and Mysterio. So far, it looks like the Sony execs have no clue what they’re doing, because they are developing movies about two baddies no one cares about while they couldn’t produce a good Spider-Man movie since 2004 (and everybody totally cares about him).

Venom is scheduled to hit theaters on October 5, 2018, with Zombieland’s Ruben Fleischer as director. Reports suggest that Venom will combines a few genres like action, horror, and sci-fi.
