Currently, Marvel Studios movies are totally dominating the Hollywood as the superhero genre is more popular than ever. Unfortunately, DC is struggling to achieve the success of their rivals. Understandably, they experience a lot of obstacles as they try to establish a whole new universe in record time, while Marvel had been carefully constructing theirs since the first Iron Man movie. Not to mention the contribution of other Marvel movies from other studios like Sony and 20th Century Fox. Sure, the rights to certain characters belong to different studios but the fact that all of them are a part of a bigger picture is mind-boggling. Marvel movies are amazing, mostly. We have seen some great movies, we remember a few mediocre ones and we certainly want to forget the bad ones. Nonetheless, it does take a while to produce a movie and the actors aren’t getting any younger, so it’s important to have a plan for the next 20 years. Ultimately, it is hard to countdown DC most anticipated movies, because all of them are the most anticipated. And they need to make up for BvS (if you liked it – it’s fine, but you wrong, but it’s cool and it’s fine). Doctor Strange has already been released and it is the first movie in Marvel Cinematic Universe to introduce the existence of magic. We have already seen a lot of surreal imagery that left us spellbound. Now, that Logan is out of the way too (and what an emotional thrill ride that was!), let dig into the most anticipated Marvel movies instead:
Ragnarok signifies the end of days in the North mythology, so you‘d better expect something insanely epic. Plot-wise, we don’t know much about it, but one thing is for sure – Thor is teaming up with Hulk. The first Thor movie was fine and the second one could’ve been better, but this one, I believe, is going to be awesome.
After being introduced in Captain America: Civil War we saw what a badass T’Challa really is: outrunning Captain America and standing up against the Winter Soldier with his awesome hand-to-hand combat style. Not to mention that he’s got a bulletproof vibramium suit. Can’t wait for his solo movie.
Since Spidey is partially back to Marvel, a new movie is being developed. No more origin stories, we cut to the chase with new adventures. What’s more, is the villain Peter will stand up against – the Vulture played by none other than Michael Keaton! We can’t just wrap our heads around the fact that Keaton went for playing a flying monster guy after playing Batman and Birdman, this is just too awesome! And, of course, we are going to see Iron Man mentoring Spider-Man.
Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2
James Gunn has set the bar really high with the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie. And now we are getting the expansion of the team, more baby Groot and Kurt Russel as Ego the Living Planter. The premiere of volume 2 is just around the corner, so let’s hope that GotG movies are going to keep getting wackier!
Avengers: Infinity War
This Marvel Studios’ most ambitious project yet! It’s everybody against Thanos with an Infinity Gauntlet! And we still don’t have a trailer for it. Hopefully, we will see the offcial trailer attached to Thor:Ragnarok premiere. In the meantime, enjoy the stunning artwork from Ryan Meinerding, who’s already done a bunch of art for various marvel movies including Captain America and Spider-man-Homecoming.
