Lately, Marvel and Disney’s ABC have been very busy producing a TV series called Inhumans, a show that is going to tell a story of mysterious members of the Inhuman Royal Family. The story is going to focus on Black Bolt, the leader of Inhumans and his subordinates. He’s a super powered being that doesn’t talk a lot because A) he a king with no BS attitude – he’s not going to waste time on chats; and B) his electron-harnessing ability is linked to the speech center of his brain and his voice triggers a massive disturbance in the form of a highly destructive shockwave capable of leveling a city. Also, Black Bolt’s mates are hid brother Maximus (who’s played by none other than Iwan Rheon, from Games of Thrones) and Karnak, his advisor, who has the ability to see the flaw in everyone and everything (so it’s going to be pretty hard to kick his ass. So far everything looks pretty good, however there are a couple of red flags as well. Roel Reine, the director that helms the first 2 IMAX episodes has previously done a couple of timeless masterpieces like Death Race 2, The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption and Death Race 3: Inferno. So there’s that in his portfolio. Also, it’s ABC, which has Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. (not the sharpest tool in the shed).
Marvel has chosen an unusual marketing strategy for this particular property as it is going to debut the first two episodes in IMAX theaters for a two-week run this September. Then, on September 26, the series will premiere on the small screen like a regular television series, with each new episode airing on ABC.
Also, Entertainment Weekly has hared the first glimpse at what the Royal Family actually looks like.
