Final War For The Planet Of The Apes Trailer Sees Caesar Charge Into Battle (So Epic)

“I did not start this war. but I will finish it.”

You better be going bananas for the latest planet of the apes trailer! It’s no more monkey business for Caesar, the ape is all out of patience for humans, so there’s gonna be no mercy, no peace, just war. An actual all-out, no holds barred war between two species – humans VS apes. Just for the record, I’m not proud of these puns.

Obviously, the stakes have never been higher, and the final trailer for the War for the Planet of the Apes (and yet I thought that Guardians of the Galaxy vol.2 was gonna be problematic) promises a bloody and gritty battle that will send shivers down the viewers’ spines. Also, don’t forget that this film carries a heavy burden of topping the action of the 2nd installment where we saw monkeys riding horses and wielding machine guns.

Sure, the primates have taken control of the planet and humans want to regain that control, but I feel that it’s just a façade. In order to really care about why Caesar and the Colonel are doing the things they’re doing, I reckon it’s going to be something personal, something that will push Caesar over the edge. It’s a speculation, but I feel that Caesar is going to lose someone truly important to him, someone he loves is going to meet their demise at the hands of Woody Harrelson’s Colonel.

I think that the Colonel’s gripe with the apes is going to mirror the one Gary Oldman had in the 2nd movie. The Colonel’s kid could’ve died due to simian flu and this is what will fuel the confrontation. There must be another layer underneath all the planet domination stuff. Without further ado, check out the trailer for the ultimate sleeper blockbuster below and share your thoughts in the comments:

Also there’s a new poster for the movie (surprisingly, there’re a lot of Donkey Kongs on the human side of the conflict):

Directed by Matt Reeves, the movie stars Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, Amiah Miller, Karin Konoval, Judy Greer and Terry Notary. The much-anticipated blockbuster is hitting theaters July 14, 2017.
